Zelenskiy imposes sanctions against Russian bookmakers

On March 10, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose economic sanctions for 50 years against 120 individuals and 287 legal entities, among which are betting companies, including Parimatch, which is registered in Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that this decision had been prepared for some time, was thoroughly elaborated, and closes schemes “worth tens of billions”.

Other companies sanctioned include Sportloto, First International Bookmaking Company, Bet.ru, CreditService, Sportbet, Betcity, and Matchbet.

The companies’ assets will be frozen, licenses will be canceled or suspended, and trade operations will be prohibited — including the withdrawal of funds from Ukraine.

Zelenskyy entrusted National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksiy Danilov with monitoring the implementation of the sanctions.
