Ukraine and Germany launch new green recovery project

Ukraine and Germany are starting the “Renewable energy sources for a sustainable Ukraine – R2U” project for Ukrainian communities. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported that on Telegram.

This project is the first stage of implementation of agreements on deepening partnership in the field of “green” recovery with Germany.

It is noted that within the scope of the project, up to 20 communities will be selected, and energy audits of critical infrastructure buildings will be conducted to further equate with renewable energy sources.

The project is designed for 18 months, costing about 2 million euros.

“With this project, we are expanding our cooperation with German partners, focused on strengthening the stability of the Ukrainian energy system due to the decentralization of generation and distribution of electric energy,” said Deputy Minister of Energy Yaroslav Demchenkov.

According to him, special attention will be paid to rural regions, coal mines, and those that suffered the greatest destruction from the war.
