Meest Group intends to establish its own air transport company

The Meest postal and logistics group intends to found its own air transport company a year after the end of the war, Meest China shareholder Viacheslav Lysenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

“An international aviation logistics group is very serious. We need to prepare for this now, and this is exactly what we are doing – studying, calculating, and modeling. I can say this – we will definitely approach the issue of acquiring transport aircraft a year after the end of the war,” he said, adding that the company is carefully studying the acquisition of transcontinental aircraft that are capable of flying over a distance of up to 10,000 km.

The group came up with the need to create its own air transport company three years ago, but the issue was put on pause due to a full-scale invasion.

“We have such a dream and have been studying this issue for the third year. But now it is definitely not on the agenda due to the full-scale invasion and closed skies over Ukraine. We will not use European airports, since in this case we lose all competitive advantages. European companies have hundreds, thousands of aircraft and, of course, have better conditions and rates,” Lysenko said.
