Verkhovna Rada has decided to extend the preferential treatment of the importation of electric cars until the end of 2022. The corresponding changes are provided for by law No. 9260, which was supported by the deputies.
Preferential treatment provides for the abolition of payment of VAT (20% of the value of the car) and excise tax on the importation of an electric vehicle. The current exclusions for electric vehicles were valid until the end of 2018.
Last time, the Verkhovna Rada abolished VAT and excise tax on imported electric cars from January 1, 2018.
