Ukrainian exports fell by 42.8% in January-February 2022, while imports decreased by 17.9% year-over-year (y-o-y), the State Statistics Service reported on Facebook on April 14.
Ukrainian exports amounted to $6.45 billion (57.2% y-o-y), while imports were $10.17 billion (82.1%), leaving a negative trade balance of $3.71 billion (against $1.08 billion in January-February 2022).
Ukraine conducted foreign trade with partners from 206 countries over the last 12 months.
Seasonally adjusted exports increased by 4.8% in February against January 2023, while imports grew by 3.2%.
At the same time, seasonally adjusted balance of foreign trade was negative and amounted to $2.2 billion in February 2023. It was the same last month, a $2.2 billion negative balance.
The value of exports in Ukraine has been slowly decreasing since September: from $4.1 billion to $3.32 billion. This is primarily due to the slowdown of the grain corridor and the correction of prices on the world market.
