The foreign trade turnover of agricultural products and foodstuffs for 11 months of 2021 increased by 22% compared to the corresponding period of 2020, to 31.3 billion dollars. The press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported this.
“According to the official data of the State Customs Service, the foreign trade turnover of agricultural products and foodstuffs in the first 11 months of this year increased by 22% compared to 2020 and reached about 31.3 billion dollars, which is 24.7% of total foreign trade turnover in Ukraine,” the message states.
It is noted that during this period, 22% more agricultural products were exported than in 11 months of 2020, namely in the amount of 24.4 billion dollars (39.8% of total exports of goods from Ukraine). The most important components of exports of food products and agricultural products in January-November 2021 remained cereals, oils, oilseeds and cake, solid waste from the extraction of vegetable fats and oils.
According to the Ministry, the main countries to which Ukrainian agri-food products were supplied were: China (15.4% in the structure of exports of agricultural products and food products); India (6.5%); The Netherlands (6.4%); Egypt (5.9%); Turkey (4.8%).
Imports of agricultural products and foodstuffs for the period increased by 20% compared to the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 6.9 billion dollars, or 10.5% of total imports of goods to Ukraine. The largest share in the structure of imports of agricultural products and food products were: fruits, nuts, and zest; fish, crustaceans, and mollusks; tobacco and tobacco products; cocoa beans, products from it, chocolate; oil. In the structure of imports of agricultural products and foodstuffs, the largest share was occupied by: Poland (10.5%); Germany (6.9%); Italy (6.9%); Turkey (6.1%); Indonesia (4.3%).
