The Ukrainian parliament has voted to free imports of security- and defense-related goods from VAT and customs duties, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, said in a Telegram post on April 10.
The two bills in question, № 9061 and № 9062, include lifting VAT on goods meant for the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, intelligence agencies, and special services.
Press service of the ruling Servant of the People party clarified that the bills affect goods like gunpowder, explosives, chemicals for ammunition production, electronic intelligence and electronic warfare equipment, special forces vehicles, radar stations, mobile repair shops, warships and boats, and other related items.
On March 30, the Ukrainian government simplified the procedure for importing drone components during martial law.
On Feb. 6, the Ukrainian parliament abolished custom duties and VAT on imports of thermal visors, drones, and radios.
