Ukraine can become one of Europe’s key suppliers of green energy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on June 21.
In a video address to the Ukraine Recovery Conference taking place in London, UK, the Ukrainian president said he believes that there is no alternative to the green transformation of the economy, as Russian aggression has proven that it is one of Europe’s most important security foundations.
Every strike on Ukraine’s energy facilities and every manifestation of Russian blackmail with an energy crisis spells the end of the era of fossil fuel dominance, when entire regions would depend on a single supplier like Russia, Zelesnkyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian president stressed that it is green energy that guarantees real energy stability, and Ukraine could be one of the key suppliers of clean electricity and green hydrogen to Europe.
The potential of this industry alone is about $400 billion, Zelenskyy said. He then pointed out that Ukraine continues to build agricultural and energy facilities, thereby protecting the world from chaos.
