Several companies interested in Ukraine’s Black Sea port, minister says

Five major companies have shown interest in concession projects at the Chornomorsk Seaport on the Black Sea coast in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London on June 21.

“In collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), we’re preparing concession projects,” Ukrainian news agency Interfax-Ukraine quotes Kubrakov.

“Some of the key projects are in the Chornomorsk port. We’re already seeing interest from five major companies.”

The minister indicated that these companies plan to participate in competitive tendering for concession rights at the end of 2023.

It was previously reported that Ukraine’s Reconstruction Ministry is getting ready to transfer the first and fifth terminals of the Chornomorsk Seaport into concession.

Danish logistics company A.P. Moeller-Maersk has also confirmed its interest in concession rights of the container terminal of this port.
