russian army destroyed or occupied 90% of wind power plants in Ukraine – Ukraine’s energy minister

The russian army destroyed, damaged, or occupied 90% of wind farms in Ukraine. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said this during the international conference on Ukraine’s recovery in Lugano (Switzerland).

“When we talk about the production of electricity from the wind, 90% (stations — ed.) are occupied or destroyed,” the minister noted.

In addition, the following were destroyed or seized:

  • 30% of solar stations,
  • more than 30% of cogeneration plants,
  • Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Halushchenko appealed to European partners to help Ukrainian cities, which suffered significant destruction due to russia’s military actions, restore the energy sector with the use of “green” technologies.
