Northrop Grumman and Ukroboronprom to build NATO-compliant ammo plant in Ukraine

American defense contractor Northrop Grumman and Ukrainian defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom signed an agreement to build a new medium-caliber ammunition production facility in line with NATO standards, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office reported on July 11.

The announcement was made after a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and top executives of leading defense companies, including BAE Systems, Day & Zimmermann, Boeing, Sierra Nevada Corporation, RTX, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, D&M Holding, AeroVironment, and Amentum.

The meeting discussed the potential for joint defense production, focusing on ammunition, air defense systems, guns, armored vehicles, drones, and equipment repair and maintenance.

Northrop Grumman is the world’s third-largest defense contractor by revenue, after RTX and Lockheed Martin.
