H&M readies to reopen in Ukraine

Swedish clothing retailer H&M Group plans to reopen most of its Ukrainian outlets in November, according to an official press release.

The company is already preparing for the reopening of most H&M stores, wherever feasible.

Further details regarding specific store reopening schedule will be announced at a later date.

“After extensive discussions with global and local stakeholders, we are ready to begin the process of reopening most of our stores,” said Memet Arisoy, Regional Manager East Europe at H&M.

The retailer temporarily closed all stores in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The company has been in constant dialogue with its Ukrainian colleagues and has continued to pay salaries. H&M also provided temporary employment opportunities for colleagues who were forced to leave for neighboring countries.

Earlier, it was reported that H&M decided to exit its business from Belarus.
