UkrGasVydobuvannya drilled and put into operation another high-rate well with a natural gas daily flow amounting to 439,000 cubic meters, the Naftogaz Group press service reported on June 21.
The well was drilled as an exploratory one to clarify the geological structure and assess the gas content of the deposits in the one of the recently discovered fields. Its depth is 5 km 767 m.
The drilling works started in September 2023 and were performed by one of the Ukrburgaz drilling operations departments.
“We got positive results on this well,” UkrGasVydobuvannya head Oleh Tolmachov said.
“This means that this field has the prospect of further exploratory destruction to increase the raw material base and the gas production volume. The drilling of two more exploratory wells at this deposit was completed. They are currently being prepared for testing.”
Ukrnafta plans to start construction of 30 new wells, both with its own drilling rigs and with the help of contractors in 2024, it was reported earlier.
The company’s strategic goal is to double oil and natural gas production to 3 million tons and 2 billion cubic meters, respectively, by 2027.
Ukrnafta began construction of three exploratory wells in western Ukraine in February.
Ukrnafta was preparing a site for drilling two exploratory wells in western Ukraine, it was reported in April. According to the built digital 3D geological and hydrodynamic model of the field, the initial total reserves of productive horizons are 5.9 million tons of oil and 468 million cubic meters of gas.
UkrGasVydobuvannya put into operation a well with about 400,000 cubic meters daily flow in March.
